With friends at a karaoke booth. Many karaoke bars have special deals at midnight, which allows you to sing and drink for hours. This is also a great deal if you have missed your final train going home at midnight.

What’s your favorite restaurant here? What’s so special about it?

I love “Izakayaism” in Kichijoji (Chuo Line). It can be a bit hard to find, but worth the hunt. The food is delicious and the staff are fun and friendly.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a warm Sunday morning in this city?

I love getting up early to (-or home late) to see the local retired people teaming up and cleaning up the neighbourhood. They all were identical vests and look like they are having such a nice time.

What were some of the hidden gems in that city? Why?

One should definitely go visit a local onsen (japanese hot spring). It is good for the body, mind and soul and can be found around Tokyo too. I can also strongly recommend getting a good shitasu massage.

If your are into art and culture, I can definitely recommend The Nezu Museum. Not so much the museum as the beautiful Japanese garden and modern tea house.

The MORI art museum in Roppongi Hills is definitely also worthwhile visiting. Make sure to time your visit, so you finish up at sundown. It is magical to see Tokyo´s skyline light up, with a glass of wine or a beer in your hand
